Did some eventful event happen this weekend? This ship looks like the streets of Oxford after a particularly lively Boat Race Night.

I did oversleep a tad without Jeeves here to wake me with tea and breakfast. I didn't realize that Oxford went that nuts when they won.

Not the whole town. [Thoughtful frown as he adds quietly.] Actually, the townsfolk themselves usually seemed quite pipped at the whole affair. [Then louder.] But for exuberant young gentlemen, Boat Race Night was an important part of the Oxford educational experience. All sorts of important things a fellow can learn, like the special trick of the wrist that is essential for separating a helmet from his policeman.

If there was it seems to have been a rum one. Everyone's a bit down in the dumps, and not in the pleasantly sozzled the night before way, either.

I don't think so. I don't think one typically wins anything for becoming stewed to the gills beyond a headache the next morning.
